According to Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut, former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has revealed an “explosive truth” about the 2019 Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 CRPF personnel.

Raut has questioned whether the attack was staged to win the 2019 Lok Sabha election and has demanded that the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government be booked for sedition. Malik had claimed in an interview that Prime Minister Modi had dissuaded him from speaking about the lapses that led to the Pulwama incident.

Raut stated that the Opposition had raised such questions soon after the attack but had been silenced by the ruling BJP, which branded them as “traitors” and “speaking in the voice of Pakistan.” Raut has also criticized the Modi government’s failure to bring economic offenders such as Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, and Vijay Mallya to justice and has accused the BJP of using central agencies to “frame” the opposition. He alleged that the BJP was trying to break the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and had issued notices to Arvind Kejriwal and Tejashwi Yadav.

Raut demanded that responsible ministers be “court martialled” for the Pulwama incident and criticized the government for not providing air support to the CRPF personnel, who were traveling along the Pulwama road, despite the fact that such a large convoy should not have been traveling by road. He also asserted that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), of which Shiv Sena is a part, would win future elections in Nagpur despite obstacles placed in its path.
